Congratulations Officer Baguma!

Jul 31, 2020 11:19AM ● By Police Department

Chief Brooks recently announced the promotion of Officer Geoffrey Baguma as the Norwood Police Department's next School Resource Officer (SRO). His assignment will officially begin in January, 2020, when SRO Paul Murphy retires, and will spend some time over the next six months in training.

Officer Baguma is a 14-year veteran of the Department who has most recently been assigned as a motor officer and School Liaison Officer to the Cleveland Elementary School. Along with SRO Jamie Mahoney, teachers and school department staff, he recently worked on the Greater Boston Food Bank Milk Project obtaining milk for Norwood families during the COVID pandemic.

He also created the BOND program which, prior to the pandemic, featured a co-ed basketball Open Run for students and police officers. Last fall, he created a Halloween costume donation drive which resulted in free costumes for local families. Officer Baguma holds a bachelor of science degree from Johnson & Wales University.

Everyone at Norwood PD wishes Officer Baguma the very best.
