During these times of social distancing and quarantining, the Morrill Memorial Library has great opportunities to keep you entertained all winter. Their hours for browsing and limited services are Monday-Saturday, 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., (8:30 -9:30 a.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays for seniors and at-risk individuals) and curbside pick-up for orders Monday-Saturday, 1:30-4:30 p.m.

For those looking for in-home or streaming solutions, there are many ways to enjoy books, movies, and magazines right in the comfort of your own home!

Hoopla

Hoopla provides Norwood residents free easy access to stream and temporarily download thousands of movies, TV shows, music albums, audiobooks, e-books, and comics. There is no waiting list or reserve process for these titles, and no late fees.

Tips to get started with Hoopla:

You'll need a valid library card and an email address.

Everyone can borrow up to 10 titles per month, and each title will list the exact borrowing time period.

It is recommended to download the hoopla digital app from the iTunes app store or Android market so you can download content on you smartphone or tablet and take it with you.

You can stream content directly to your home computer.

Visit hoopladigital.com and Sign Up to get started!

Have questions? Ask Brian DeFelice, the Technology Librarian, or Liz Reed, Adult Services Librarian, 781-463-0138.

Libby

Libby is a downloadable application that allows Morrill Library cardholders to listen to audiobooks or read e-books on their phone or tablet. You can use your library card to log-in and check-out books like you would with the Libby app. Some popular titles may require you to be put on a waiting list.

Tips to get started with Libby:

You'll need a valid library card and an email address.

Everyone can borrow up to 10 titles per month, and each title will list the exact borrowing time period. If you're also using the Overdrive app, be aware that you get 10 borrows per month between both apps, since they give you access to the same service.

It’s Not Too Late to Join Winter BINGO!

The Morrill Memorial Library is again holding Winter BINGO! There's no need to social distance from these literary characters - cuddling up with a few good books is the best way to make it through quarantine. Plus, reading books gives you a chance to win prizes, a win-win!

Reader's BINGO is open to everyone high school-aged or older. Any books you finish this winter can be included on your BINGO sheet, and each book can only be entered in a single box. BINGO goes from December 2020 through March 12, 2021.

BINGO sheets can be submitted to Liz Reed in Reference or email her a scan or photo of your sheet at the end of the contest. Turn them in even if you've only completed one or two rows - you might win!

BINGO sheets are available online at www.norwoodlibrary.org/borrow/winter-reading-bingo/. Sheets must be returned by Friday March 12. Please contact Liz with any questions: [email protected], 781-463-0137.
