Norwood is set to sparkle with the launch of the Second Annual Norwood Business Window Decorating Competition! This year’s theme, “Light Up the Town,” invites businesses to transform their storefronts with glowing lanterns, twinkling candles, and imaginative, glowing displays that celebrate the warmth and unity of the season and its residents.
The contest, organized by the Friends of Norwood Center (FONC), with support from the Rotary Club of Norwood, kicks off on Small Business Saturday, November 29, and runs through December 18. For the next three weeks, residents and visitors are invited to stroll through Norwood Center, and beyond, to admire the festive windows of local businesses, each designed to spread holiday cheer and to vote for their favorite.

“This is about more than just decorating,” FONC President Graham Stetson said.
“It’s about bringing the community together, supporting small businesses, and celebrating what makes Norwood so special during the holidays, and throughout the year.”
For Norwood businesses, this is a chance to showcase their creative side and attract shoppers and visitors throughout the holiday season. It’s also an opportunity to thank their clients for their support throughout the year.
A panel of local celebrity judges will evaluate the displays and award prizes in three categories: Best Use of Theme, Most Local, and Best Visual Impact. In addition, the community will have the chance to make their voices heard by voting for the People’s Choice Award. Displays must be completed by Small Business Saturday, Nov. 29 for the official contest launch, and remain decorated to Thursday, Dec 18.
Participation is open to all Norwood businesses and organizations, with a $25 entry fee to help support event costs and community initiatives. A full list and map of participating locations will be released, making it easy for families to plan their holiday stroll.

All Norwood business owners are encouraged to participate in this festive Norwood tradition that brings joy, builds community spirit, and supports the local economy. Plus, a little friendly competition is fun as well!
