A Rough Christmas for Pete — Community Donations Can Make a Difference

It wasn’t a Merry Christmas for BSAC’s long-term foster kitty Pete, who required urgent veterinary care totaling $3,000 on the holiday. Bay State Animal Cooperative will always do whatever it takes to ensure the health and safety of its cats, but this unexpected expense placed a significant strain on the organization’s funds. Supporters are encouraged to help replenish the account with a tax-deductible donation at baystateanimals.org.

Bay State Animal Cooperative Gears Up for Biggest Fundraiser of the Year

The thermometer may still be showing low New England numbers, but the Bay State Animal Cooperative is already preparing for its most anticipated and impactful fundraiser of the year, the Annual June Car and Dog Wash. This event is a community favorite that combines fun, teamwork, and lifesaving support for cats in need.

This lively event brings together volunteers, animal lovers, and local residents for a day of suds, smiles, and fundraising, with all proceeds going directly toward medical care, food, litter, and supplies for rescued cats, including those in long-term foster homes. Each year, the event plays a critical role in helping the organization continue its mission of rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming.

To make this year’s fundraiser the best yet, Bay State Animal Cooperative is seeking a Car/Dog Wash Coordinator to help lead the effort. The role involves recruiting and organizing volunteers, coordinating event logistics, and overseeing the day to ensure everything runs smoothly. It’s a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys event planning, community involvement, and making a direct impact on animal welfare.

Volunteers of all ages and experience levels are also needed and welcome. Anyone interested in helping or learning more is encouraged to reach out to [email protected]. With strong community support, this fun-filled fundraiser promises to make a big difference — one wash at a time. Reach out to [email protected] for more information.
