From the Make-A-Wish Foundation

We have reached July, 2026, and Bob Lieberman, the Can Man of Norwood, has been collecting cans, bottles, and donations for Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island for 3 1/2 years and has reached 600,000 as he continues his climb to 1,000,000. He just might reach it. Things have been proceeding very well for Bob.

I must first thank all the wonderful people who own businesses and homeowners who have stepped up to the plate, for the past 3 1/2 years, to make my effort the success that it is,” Lieberman said. “I could not have done it without all their help leaving bags outside with my name on them. The name BOB is easy to remember, and when they call me, I am always there.

Kara Walker/Chief Marketing & Communications Officer contacted me to make nine clocks for nine “WISH 2026 AMBASSADORS.” their diagnoses vary to reflect on their personal efforts while facing critical illnesses, but through their physical efforts, they continue the fight. The presentation to these nine, was on Saturday, June 13, and it was well received. I presented the recipients with their photo clocks, and mentioned how my involvement grew from a few cans to thousands of cans. I just can`t stop.

The Fourth Invitational Golf Event will be held in October, at Hopkinton C.C., in Hopkinton, with all three previous events a sellout and a complete success. Fingers crossed the 4th one will also be. The commitment these companies made shows that they will be staying onboard for a long time. Again, this will be the fourth year that I will make photo clocks that will go to the winning team.

Unbeknownst to me, Make-A-Wish of Massachusetts and Rhode Island has been so impressed with my efforts for the charity they felt they needed to submit my story into their “Summer Newsletter;” a story relating to my connection to the charity and my ongoing efforts, which has really impressed them. 

“I wanted to help young adults and kids to the best of my ability, and I am.” 

I was totally shocked to see the article on their website. I wasn`t expecting it, and certainly did not feel that I needed to be recognized in that way. I do all this just to be a helper and want to see these young children and young adults survive their nasty ordeals. Progress is definitely being made.
