Congratulations to Deputy Chief Chris Flanagan!
The Norwood Police Department recently announced that Deputy Chief Chris Flanagan graduated from Session 299 of the FBI National Academy on September 17, 2026, in Quantico, Virginia.
The FBI National Academy is a prestigious 10-week professional development program for law enforcement leaders from across the United States and around the world. The program provides advanced training in leadership, communication, criminal justice, physical fitness, and contemporary law enforcement challenges. Participants are selected through a competitive nomination process and have the opportunity to learn from FBI instructors, academic professionals, and fellow law enforcement leaders.
Throughout his time at the National Academy, Deputy Chief Flanagan gained valuable knowledge and developed numerous professional relationships with law enforcement leaders from across the country and around the world. These connections will strengthen collaboration, enhance information sharing, and help further the goals and mission of the Norwood Police Department.
Shaquille O'Neal, a proud supporter of law enforcement, took the time to attend the graduation ceremony and honor the members of Session 299. His presence helped make this milestone even more memorable for the graduates and their families.
Congratulations Deputy Chief Flanagan on this outstanding accomplishment! Your training will bring knowledge, experience, and relationships back to NPD and the Norwood community.
