Congratulations Officer Baguma!

Norwood Police recently shared and congratulated Officer Geoff Baguma and his selection as a 2023 Black Excellence On The Hill Honoree as part of the Massachusetts Black and Latino Legislative Caucus (MBLLC).
The MBLLC was created in 1973 and remains a voice for Massachusetts’ communities of color in the Legislature. The MBLLC also seeks to empower constituents to gain a deeper sense of political awareness on issues concerning them and their greater communities. Officer Baguma was nominated by State Representative John Rodgers.
Officer Baguma is a 17-year veteran of the Norwood Police Department and serves as the School Resource Officer (SRO) for the Coakley Middle School. Prior to serving as SRO, he was assigned as a motorcycle officer and School Liaison Officer to the Cleveland Elementary School. He was instrumental in organizing “Still I Rise,” Norwood’s first Annual Black History Month event, this year. He also created the Norwood Juneteenth Committee, which just held its second annual Juneteenth Celebration on the Town Common in June, 2023.
Officer Baguma is a role model for students and has implemented positive change throughout the Norwood community. He is proud to be rooted in the community where he grew up.
Congratulations on the well deserved selection Officer Baguma!
