Norwood Actress Featured in She Loves Me

Set in a 1930s Budapest perfumery, we meet shop clerks Amalia and Georg who, more often than not, don’t see eye to eye. After both respond to a “lonely hearts advertisement” in the newspaper, they now live for the love letters that they exchange, but the identity of their admirers remains unknown. Join Amalia and Georg to discover the identity of their true loves… and all the twists and turns along the way.

Norwood actress Kelly McGowan returns to the Footlighters stage after serving as the Dance Captain in last spring’s production of Something Rotten! Kelly has also been cast as Mrs. Cratchit in this December’s production of A Christmas Carol, which the Footlighters will be staging in conjunction with the Walpole Children’s Theater. “It combines the three elements of good taste: attractive to the eye, attractive to the ear, and functional!” McGowan said.

Considered by many to be the most charming musical ever written, She Loves Me is a warm romantic comedy with an endearing innocence and a touch of old-world elegance. The Mikos Lazlo play Parfumerie, on which it is based, has inspired many adaptations, including the film You’ve Got Mail starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. The Footlighters production is directed and choreographed by Doug Hodge, with music direction by Marilyn Whipple.

Performances of She Loves Me are at the Walpole Footlighters Playhouse at 2 Scout Road in East Walpole. Performances will be on October 27 & 28 and November 3, 4, and 11 at 7:30 p.m. There will also be matinee performances on October 29 and November 12 at 2 p.m.  To purchase tickets, call the Box Office at 508-668-8446 or purchase online at www.footlighters.com.
